The Janusz Kurtyka Foundation was created in 2016 to promote the Republic of Poland and its history and historiography, both at home and abroad. Our aim is to uphold Poland’s good reputation and to support and disseminate its national and civic tradition as well as to foster patriotic attitudes among its citizens.
Our mission is to take up the challenges facing Poland in its policy on history, to which we want to contribute through the various projects we are conducting.
Another important aspect of our activities is to cherish and preserve the legacy our Patron has left us. The Library we have established holds a collection of specialist works on medieval, early modern, and contemporary history, the principal component of which has come from the collection of books once owned by Janusz Kurtyka.
